Oral Health Appointments
Oral Health Appointments
You will begin to hear us use the term “Oral Health Appointment” when we talk to you about your regular check-up and cleaning. Because so many patients refer to it as “just a cleaning”, we want to tell you about the value of your regular visit.
When our dentists and hygienists examine your mouth and do your scaling and polishing they are also checking for abnormalities of the soft tissue, for defects in restorations and the structure of your teeth, and the general oral health which is representative of your total health.
Ensure Your Oral Health
Without good oral health, it’s very hard to maintain overall good health. There is a link between periodontal disease and heart problems. In order to maintain good health into old age, you need good teeth to be able to chew and digest your food properly.
Your life long oral health is our goal for you. Do yourself a favor and keep your regular Oral Health Appointments.
Oral Hygiene
Our Oral Health department offers the patient the most important part of dental treatment in preventing disease before it starts. Our dental hygienists are fully trained and licensed and are registered with the state. They provide dental cleanings, fluoride treatments, brushing and flossing instruction and plaque control techniques. They are trained to take x-rays and other dental services. They are an extension of the doctor, which allows us the opportunity of spending more time with each patient.
We recommend Oral B and Sonicare Electric Toothbrushes. Our units have timers so you know that you have brushed for two minutes and can sense if you are brushing too hard. We have Oral B Transformational Gum Health iO Power Brush which includes 5 brushing modes and a pro-timer to encourage brushing for at least 2 minutes. Powers a long-lasting charge in just 3 hours.
The new Oral B Transformational Gum Health iO Power Brush does an exceptional job of cleaning your teeth. You will see a definite reduction of plaque and improvement in your oral health with regular constant brushing, flossing, and check-ups. We also offer Arestin, iorinse, and Waterpik (handheld and countertop units).
If you’ve noticed soreness, pain, or anything else making your teeth and mouth uncomfortable, don’t hesitate to give us a call and schedule an appointment. Please contact our office in Fishers, IN.
